Why now. On July 17 the board voted 7-0 to send the practicum and didactic hours to the Training and Education Committee, which meets this afternoon to develop updated standards. Larry Leeman has suggested the committee bring in outside experts for that discussion, as the end-of-life committee did, ideally people with real experience and no commercial conflict of interest, and named the California Institute of Integral Studies as one example. If you know someone who could present, or have a resource or idea that helps, add it here.

"The 35 hour didactic requirement seems insufficient. I hope there will be more time for a thoughtful discussion and a rationale before the number of didactic hours is set. An official training and education committee intercession work group would be helpful in pulling together all of the different ideas that have been discussed informally. Then a clear recommendation could be brought to the advisory board."
